The Edit Site screen updates the site configuration for an environment. For Sitecore AI/XMC environments, this information can be imported during activation of your Spark account. The fields below describe every option on the page, including their purpose and defaults.

Field

Description

Default

Site NameA name associated to the CMS site. The incoming payload contains a site name, and only payloads with matching site names will be processed. Required (max 128 characters).e.g., Main Website
HostnameThe target/public-facing hostname of the site. Should be a valid host/domain name; scheme is optional. Required (max 256 characters).https://www.example.com
Site Path PrefixThe path prefixed to the incoming relative URL paths when sent for regeneration. This supports frameworks such as Next.js's handling of locales and multisite. For example, an incoming URL of /about-us/privacy-policy with a prefix of /{locale}/_site_{sitename} (locale "en", site name "testsite") is sent to the host application as /en/_site_testsite/about-us/privacy-policy. Supported tokens: {locale} (the locale segment used in the generated path) and {sitename} (the sitename for this site). The path prefix allows Spark to target the correct files when regenerating and deleting pages. Max 128 characters.  For App Router, the value should be set to /{sitename}/{locale} in its default configuration/{locale}/_site_{sitename}
Root PathThe content root path of the site in the CMS.  Max 256 characters. e.g., /sitecore/content/Home
Virtual PathThe Virtual Path from the site configuration. Leave empty for Sitecore XM Cloud, unless the default behaviour has been modified. Max 512 characters.
Default LanguageThe default language code for the site (e.g. en, en-US). Max 10 characters.en
LocalesA comma-separated list of supported language codes for the site (e.g. en,fr,de). Max 256 characters.
Cache Tag (optional - for cache purging)An optional Cache Tag for site-level cache purging in the post actions. Only letters, numbers, hyphens (-), underscores (_), plus (+), asterisk (*), dot (.), and forward slash (/) are allowed. Max 100 characters.
