During onboarding (and at other times as required) we undertake performance and load testing to provide an indication of potential issues in your environment.
Pre-go live testing
We carry out testing on the Production environment just before go live to ensure we are testing the latest version of the upgraded codebase.
As our infrastructure is architected to be able to scale, typically if the performance testing highlights a potential issue we can adjust the scaling for the go live time and discuss Azure consumption afterwards once any bugs like non-performing code have been addressed.
Post-go live testing
On request, we can work with you to conduct follow-up testing on your environment. Some considerations:
- Parameters will need to be provided, such as:
- Key functionality / content heavy pages to test
- Top 5 pages visited
- Current visits per second, hour, week or month
- Our load testing tool will need to be allowed access so the IP doesn't get blocked by rate limiting rules or firewalls
- You will need to provide an outage window as the testing can overload the origin and cause brief or sustained downtime.
